Field Service Engineer

Location:
Base: Slaithwaite, Huddersfield (extensive UK-wide travel required)
Salary:
£26,000-£35,000 per annum (DOE)
Sickness scheme and pension available upon successful completion of probation.
Working hours:
Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our growing team.
About the Role:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive reliable, responsive, and professional support.
You will travel throughout the UK carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Innerva equipment, helping customers maximise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
This is a varied role that combines hands-on engineering, customer interaction, and problem-solving. You will work independently while remaining closely connected to our wider operations and service teams. You will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas, improve processes, and help shape the future of our customer support operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Travelling to customer sites across the UK to conduct servicing, maintenance, and repairs
- Diagnosing faults and resolving technical issues efficiently
- Performing preventative maintenance inspections
- Maintaining accurate service records and reports
- Updating customer service histories and job information
- Communicating professionally with customers regarding equipment condition and recommendations
- Supporting service scheduling and customer communications where required
- Preparing parts, tools, and documentation before site visits
- Escalating recurring or significant technical issues
- Helping reduce repeat callouts through effective diagnosis and reporting
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the service department
- Maintaining company tools, equipment, and vehicles to a high standard
What we are looking for:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a field service, maintenance, or engineering role
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good IT skills for reporting and record keeping.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
Desirable:
- Experience working with rehabilitation, fitness, medical or electro-mechanical equipment.
- Experience using CRM or service management software.
